Review: Falke Net Women Tights

I was watching a live broadcast featuring Gerbe patterned tights.  One of the items that caught my attention was the Sevilla Fishnet.  It has a net appearance at close range, but turns into sheer look as you walk further away from it.  “That is pure magic!” I said to myself, and I must get one.  I eventually bought the Sevilla, as well as a box of fishnet and open-knit tights.  We are not going to look at the Sevilla just yet, but another fishnet tights that has a similar characteristic – the Nets Women Tights by Falke.

Strengths & Weaknesses

⊕ Fantastic yet illusive appearance.
⊕ Tint of glamour.
⊕ Comfortable to the skin.
⊕ Great breathability.

• Gusset included.

⊗ Smaller fit.

Packaging & product description

The packaging is something I haven’t seen before.  The tights are secured using a thin cardboard and wrapped in a transparent plastic sleeve.  The item is then packed into a paper bag-shaped box, with the opening at the bottom (see picture below).  To be honest, I don’t know why Falke used a more complicated design for a relative thin and light tight.  I am sure the conventional two-fold cardboard with transparent plastic sleeve is sufficient.  Perhaps Falke has other reasons for it.

The name of the item is not printed on the packaging.  This is not uncommon in Falke’s products.  What surprises me was that there is no product description on the packaging!  I’d say Falke shop assistants must be very good at identifying items by only looking at the front cover.

Appearance & texture

The Net Women are fishnet tights in micro mesh fashion.  The diameter of the mesh ranges from 2mm at the feet to around 4mm (at the thigh and hip).  The fibres are relatively fine and soft to the skin.  The Falke signature waistband measures 2.0 cm wide.  It is made from elastic band without plush on the inner side.  The panty section is seamless yet there is a knitted gusset.  The mesh at the toe section are not reinforced.

The composition is 75% polyamide and 25% elastane.

Size range

The size ranges from S to L.  I have attached the chart for your reference.

At the time of writing this review, there are five colours available.  They are (from left to right): Black, Powder, Cocoon, Cigar and Guacamole.  The latter is close to fluorescent green colour.  I have used Cocoon for this review.

The fit was slightly small, probably due to a shorter hose and high elasticity.  For this reason, the gusset was constantly being pulled downwards, and I had to readjust it from time to time.  I did not however, encounter any issues with the waistband.  In addition, the tights have a very good envelopment, thanks to high amount of elastane.

As expected, the appearance was illusive!  The mesh was obscure and look like plain sheer tights from a distance.  There was also a reflective sheen, a tint of glamour when exposed to sunlight.  The net runs from waist to toe.  The gusset shouldn’t be a problem unless you are wearing bodysuit only.

The texture felt fine and soft.  I didn’t experience itch on these tights, which is great.  Being fishnet, the breathability is always very good.  The toes may feel cramped because of very good elasticity, especially when worn for a long time.

Final words

The Net Women tights are comfortable yet illusive.  It is illusive because of its changing appearance and without a product description.  I find the size runs slightly small.  You may have to upgrade if you are at the right side of the size range.

The price is affordable.  You can find them for £19 or €20.  You may have to mention the item number (40658) just in case.
