To me, KUNERT has been synonymous with the phrase “high quality hosiery in affordable price”. So I am too excited to review their products, to see what else could the brand bring. This time, we will look into one of the KUNERT’s basic essentials – the Mystique 20 tights.

Strengths & Weaknesses
⊕ Exceptionally comfortable to wear.
⊕ Elegant and high-quality appearance, suitable for every occasion.
⊕ Highly elastic means no bags or wrinkles after long hours of wearing.
Packaging & product description
The style is packaged using the thin cardboard, tri-fold cover and transparent plastic sleeve manner. I have taken a few images, which are shown below.
The online description is in German only. The description on the rear cover however, is printed in three languages. I have extracted the English version, which reads:
“TIGHTS TRANSPARENT, MATT
These transparent, powder-matt tights flatter your legs and emphasise their natural beauty. A real all-rounder for business and everyday wear.”
- Even mesh structure for the perfect complexion.
- Maximum comfort thanks to: pressure-free waistband and flat seam; shadow toe with run stop and a soft flat seam for optimum durability; fitted heel, not reinforced; optimum fit.
Appearance & texture
The Mystique 20 is sheer (20 denier) tights in matt fashion. It is sheer-to-waist. The total length of the tights is around 87cm long. The texture is soft, smooth and silky to the touch. The knitted waistband measures 4cm wide and is made pressure-free. There is also a 3cm-wide fingerband. The distance between the tip of the waistband and the crotch is approximately 23cm long. There is a gusset, and the toe section is reinforced.
The composition is 61% polyamide and 39% elastane.
The size ranges from 0 to V. I have included the size below. Size II was used for this review.
At the time of writing this review, there are 9 colours available online. They are (from left to right): Candy, Hasel, Black, Cashmere, Marine, Carbon, Teint, Espresso and Basalt. I bought Marine for this review.
The fit was perfect and true to the size recommendation. There was also a fairly good envelopment, especially on the legs. Thanks to the high elastane composition, the tights were especially stretchy. For instance, I even tried wearing them under trousers, of which generally pulls the tights downwards over time. Yet when I took the trousers off, the tights stay put, and there was no bags or wrinkles around the knees.
The pressure-free waistband provided a good fit on my waist. It didn’t dig in or roll down throughout the day. Likewise, the toe section have sufficient room for my toes to wriggle around.
The appearance was plain but of elegance and high quality. It is suitable for both leisure and work. No wonder KUNERT called it an all-rounder.
The tights were generally matt, and only exhibit a reflective sheen on certain angles under direct lighting. The Marine is a very dark blue colour that is very common to find, not only within KUNERT but also in other brands as well. It is also easy to style.
The quality looked very good. The colour was evenly distributed and I didn’t find any snags upon unboxing.
The tights felt particularly smooth, soft, and very silky. It is one of those that you would want to wear all day long and doesn’t want to take it off even it is bed time. Likewise, the waistband sat comfortably on my ever-widening waist, exerting no pressure at all.
The tights is 20 denier, but did feel a little thinner than that. Thus it is breathable, but may be not think enough to keep me warm when the outside temperature is 13°C.
This is one of the best KUNERT tights I have reviewed so far. It is exceptionally comfortable to wear, and for just €13! I regret not have tried it earlier. I definitely recommend it!
